Social Business: Committed Communities

One of my goals is to give coverage to the hard working nonprofits in Middle, Tennessee that continue to work towards helping society become a better place. This post I wanted to focus on an organization that has found a really cool way to help raise money for important programs in Davidson County.

Committed Communities is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization founded May 15, 2015. with a mission to give additional funding for enrichment programs to public schools in Nashville.

Extra-curricular educational activities that provide a designed curriculum dedicated to the physical, emotional, and social development of children. These programs focus on the teaching of art, culture, technology, music, and movement.  Committed Communities has discovered a great way to raise money for these programs while also providing a much needed school supply.

Consider that students bring home folders every day to their parents containing homework, papers to be signed, special projects, etc. These folders go home to hundreds of parents every school day. Advertising in these folders is a great way for businesses to get their message out to prospective customers.  When local businesses step up to support these programs by sponsoring school folders, everyone benefits.

Committed Communities than take the proceeds and give financial support to non profits that have a direct and positive result on our local schools. It is a great way to cycle money in our community that helps everyone – teachers, parents, businesses, and of course the students!
