Well, before you can assume ANY further, I can confirm that I took the leap. I jumped 30+ days ago and fell into a myriad of emotions. After Trump won the Election 2016, I decided dreams can come true and to be even more fearless with my blog. So I’ve been inspired to share this update in my life:
I am not sure if I mentioned it in my social media feeds, but I have been preparing to present to a business communications class at Tennessee State University. Well, today was the day. I could hardly sleep last night as I was shocked out of my mind from THE WALKING DEAD season 7 premiere!!!!!!!
AND being anxious/excited to speak with adults in a classroom setting, which I knew would be the complete opposite of my visit at Antioch Middle Prep School last week.
I’ve been battling sinuses all weekend but this was another event I couldn’t miss. So I grabbed my Claritin, a box of tissue, a cup of coffee, and headed on up to the land of golden sunshine, downtown campus.
Eric Capehart facilitated the conversation and I provided real life experiences around the process of communicating an idea, and the traditional style of writing versus blogging. I then spoke to my experiences around how to maximize social media, and honesty and integrity online. I finally facilitated a few questions. From the conversations during class, it was clear to see there were quite a few budding entrepreneurial minds. A few of them spoke with me after class and we made connections on social media. How cool is that? But truly, that’s how my mind is beginning to work!
The main idea I conveyed were my thoughts on communication in today’s new age (social media style). Who would have known that something as simple as an idea of launching a blog would turn into a medium by which I am now being invited to provide my perspective on the subject? Who knew?! I’m so proud of myself and excited about the future I am creating. And I can definitely see myself building out lectures and speaking topics as I begin to develop my blogging career.
Thanks to Eric Capehart for inviting to speak to your business communications course at Tennessee State University!
Thanks to the students for their participation and engagement!
Thanks to you for reading!

If you’re anything like me then you have been following Kenya from her fairy tale romance and subsequent marriage to Nashville radio personality Dolewite to watching her “walk” or be walked by her huge dog Walli. One thing I noticed is, I NEVER SEE HER OUT in Nashville. Conversely, she is very vocal and eloquent in her writing about truth seeking and truth telling, honoring your emotions, and creating personal boundaries. It only made sense for a blog that features all things good and authentic in Nashville to feature Kenya Raymer of HalfieTruths.com. She’s dropping gems of wisdom and I found a neat app that lets you “click to tweet” quotables. Trust me, you’re going to want to share these pearls of reflection with your friends.
