The Roaring 30s // An Art Deco Affair 2017

The Frist Center hosted The 2017 An Art Deco Affair on Saturday, August 12, 2017.  It was an amazing time and a fundraiser to support the care of its iconic and historic Art Deco Building.  Read on to see what you missed!

Here’s the promotional video where I talk about the history of the Frist Center, Art Deco, and the current exhibitions:  State of the Art //Discovering American Art Now (through September 10) and Ancestral Modern //Australian Aboriginal Art from the Kaplan and Levi Collection.

Saturday, August 12 was the day of the event.  It was a long day for me as well as I raced from one gig to the next.

I had so much fun and the 30s theme really added to the ambiance and the atmosphere!

My favorite light bites from each vendor:

Chauhan Ale and Masala House:  All of them!  The Gol Guppa Shots I was impressed with how they were created. The Meatballs Makhani were yummy with curry flavor, and the Garam Masala Chocolate Cake Bites were a sweet touch!

Tansuo:  I loved the Fire Cracker Wontons.  The Cucumber Salad was quite tasty and the Sesame Gold Eggs were impressive from a culinary perspective.  They looked like speckled eggs!

The newly opened Mockingbird Nashville light bites were a hit!  I had seconds (and thirds) of the Rice Rice Baby which was a flair of pimento cheese and a crispy crust! Yum!

Beam Suntory was a winner with its “New Fashioned” cocktail!

Kudos all around for such fun, versatile, and tasty light bites!

Everyone was dressed to the 30s with fascinators, headbands, and boas!  The backdrop at the Frist Center made it easy for everyone to take photos in the space or at the photo booth provided by Now Playing Nashville.

Here are some pictures of the event and friend who joined me for pictures:

If you like my headband/fascinator it was designed by Nashville stylish Sunny Fitz —
