My Purpose

I was challenged to find my purpose before I start a family/get married, get caught up into the whirlwind of life.  Makes a lot of sense, right?

But where do you start to find something when you don’t know what for what you are looking?  I am getting away from the notion that you have to know where you are going in order to move forward. Having a plan, an idea,

In an effort to change, learn, grow and be adaptable I have decided to have a more adventurous approach to finding my purpose. I have decided to make it a game, something like my personal self-discovery scavenger hunt. I’m going to allow myself to think out of the box, explore, and be uncomfortable.

Because maybe my purpose is to mentor other folks on how to find their purpose. The purpose for me is in the doing. Not in the purpose its self. Move Forward. Dream, initiate, be resourceful, and see where it takes you.

The first step for me is understanding more about my passions and what motivates me. In my conversation with my friend,  I was challenged to not look at my internal motherly instinct. So when I first thought about my purpose, I thought it was something loving, something kind, something nurturing, mentoring little boys and girls. But that purpose will be fulfilled when I have children. The children will then grow up, leave, and then what? What is my purpose then? Is my purpose complete? My challenge is to think outside of that

So when I first thought about my purpose, I thought it was something loving, something kind, something nurturing, mentoring little boys and girls. But that purpose will be fulfilled when I have children. The children will then grow up, leave, and then what? What is my purpose then? Is my purpose complete? My challenge is to think outside of that feminine side and understand more about what I love what I dream what I do.

In order for me to do that, it will require more soul searching, more thoughtful reflection.

I have attached a link to an article that oddly enough may help me get some ideas out of my head, onto paper, and begin to formulate a path. Where that leads I don’t know, but the cool part is that it’s my path, and it doesn’t have a specific destination. I can go in circles and still be happy about the experience each time I went around the circle. What I am saying to myself is to not worry about this destination, even though its so important, but to enjoy the journey.

If this path takes me in direction and it does jive with my soul, its my path, I can change it. I cant take a break. I can refine the path? I can sit right in the middle of my path indian style until I decide where I’m going next. Exciting huh?

I’m attaching an article that had some really good questions to help spark my thinking. Then I take a Saturday schedule some time and go shadow, explore, experience, talk about, or read about some of the thoughts that come out of the answers to my thought provoking questions. This will be completed by the end of Sept. Here we go!
